The oldest standalone half marathon in New Zealand, the Huntly Half marathon is back for 2017.
The virtually flat course follows the mighty Waikato River along sealed roads, and is designed to be a much faster event.
With four categories to enter, the Huntly Half Marathon is suitable for all levels of fitness. Participants have a choice of the traditional 21.1km Half Marathon, the 10km, the 5km and the Kids 2km fun run, with every category having the option to either run or walk.
One of the country’s largest half marathon events, the Huntly Half Marathon is also classed as one of the premier NZ half marathons and holds great prestige among competitive runners. Starting in 1981, the event has grown over the years to around 3,000 runners of all levels taking part each year.
Past winners of the event include Sir John Walker and Dale Warrander just to name a few.
So whether you are an avid competitive runner or gearing up for your first half marathon, the Huntly Half is the place to be.
