The main state highways are the most direct route to explore the region. State Highway one runs directly through the region taking in Hamilton City along the way, while State Highway 39 takes in the western side of the region including Waitomo and connection up with State Highway three. By Air

Hamilton International airport provides daily direct domestic flights to major cities, tourist hotspots and most destinations within New Zealand. By Rail

Travelling by rail is a relaxing and easy way to see the country. The main north island trunk line travels from Auckland City to Wellington.
