18 March 16: Health and Safety – activity operators

TIA has been working with Regional Tourism Organisations and Tourism New Zealand to develop a common approach on how to work together to meet the requirements of the new health and safety law which comes into force on 4 April 2016.

Activity operators used by Tourism New Zealand and RTOs will receive a request for information on their health and safety plans and procedures (in line with requirements under the health and safety reforms for evidencing the safety of those who provide services). This information will be used to develop a list of health and safety compliant operators for use on Tourism New Zealand and RTO funded or planned famils. You may also be asked for similar information by other organisations that use your services. For more information on the Health and Safety legislation, see TIA’s website and the RTONZ website.
