The group – who were hosted by Hamilton and Waikato Convention Bureau and shown some of the area’s top attractions and venues – were taken on a site tour of Claudelands on the morning of Thursday, 12 November before returning to the venue that night for a special dinner function.
The evening, which had a ‘surprise’ theme, saw the group dine in an opulent setting among light chandeliers and festoon lighting, and be entertained by a pianist, cellist, ribbon dancer and opera singer – giving them a taste of what our region and venue has to offer.
Murray Jeffrey, H3 Director of Business Development and Marketing said it was a “privilege to host a superb group of event professionals at Claudelands, who generously gave up time to come to the region from throughout New Zealand”.
“The famil dinner allows us to demonstrate what our team can do – it is great to be able to showcase how great our venue is and help them imagine their event being held here with us,” says Jeffrey.
“It’s interesting to note that 100 per cent of what we provided in terms of theming, production, entertainment and catering was imagined and delivered in-house by the very talented H3, Claudelands and Montana Catering team.
“One of the most important things to us here at Claudelands is the way we look after people and so it was fun to do something a bit special and hopefully send our guests away having been surprised and delighted, which of course is what we strive to do in our business every day.”
