This will add another 52 square metres of covered area to their already 68 square metres and allow for banquet style conferences and functions of up to 120 persons or theatre style of up to 160 persons.
The Metcalfes noticed an upsurge in companies wanting larger functions and being midway between Auckland and Hamilton it also allows clients with offices in both cities to combine for a joint conference, product launch or social function. Their accommodation also means guest speakers, facilitators and overseas guests can be housed on-site during a conference.
The Atrium will feature a mechanical louvre roof which can be used opened or closed and clear side walls which can be raised or lowered to suit the conditions. The aim is to give unobstructed views to the north, south and east out over Lake Waahi and the wide green country view. This is a truly beautiful spot to watch the sunrise or sit in the evening with a cold glass of wine and ploughmans platter while considering a dip in the pool, a walk in the gardens or watching others undertake the many activities available at the Metcalfes.
The Atrium will be complete in June 2016.
