If you haven’t heard, Hampton Downs Motorsport Park is undergoing a major transformation and will be nothing like the old. In fact, it will be a motorsport mecca, which will appeal to the domestic and international tourist while providing unique opportunities for companies looking for a new conference destination, team building activities and exhilarating ways to entertain key customers. A new exhibition centre is being constructed for an interactive motorsport heritage area along with a new international 800m arrive-and-drive Go Kart track.
The brand new, elegantly attired lounges and conference facilities above the pit garages are already complete and we offer a range of team building activities (Electronic Skeet, 4x4 track, Go karts, Skid Pan Experience). There will also be You Drive Muscle Car and Fast Lap Experiences on offer, which can be delivered by motorsport identities such as Greg Murphy and Shane Van Gisbergen.
Most activities are available now and the rest will be up and running on or before the official relaunch of the revamped Hampton Downs facilities which takes place at the high profile 28-29 October round of the 2016 Australian GT Championship. The event will feature the inaugural Hampton Downs 101 endurance race and the most exotic line-up of GT3 race cars you’ll see on a race track in New Zealand.
In the meantime the track hosts motor racing events such as the March rounds of the New Zealand Super Bike Championship, the North Island Endurance Championship and the Roycroft Trophy Vintage Festival.
The Hampton Downs’ team launched their GT Members’ Club in January and already a good number of members have been out, testing their skills and enjoying their cars on the swooping contours of the Hampton track.
If you are after some more information on the membership or the track, contact Mike or Cherie who make up the new Hampton Downs business development team.
