It is estimated that deals worth tens of millions of dollars to the New Zealand economy will be negotiated at next week’s four day event which this year brings together 300 New Zealand tourism operators with some 377 trade and tourism buyers from 29 countries around the world.
Sixty seven Tourism New Zealand staffers will attend TRENZ - 31 from our offshore offices and 36 New Zealand based staff, supporting buyers and sellers through a packed schedule of appointments.
TRENZ will also be the industry’s first opportunity to hear from Tourism New Zealand’s new Chief Executive Stephen England-Hall who will talk about the challenges of sharpening the focus on delivering long-term value to the industry while working to keep tourism “number 1”.
Tourism New Zealand has facilitated a special feature for TRENZ this year which will bring together a group of highly regarded USA-based media professionals who will provide valuable insider knowledge on current luxury travel trends and how to attract the luxury traveller. The USA-based media professionals will speak on Thursday, 11 May at the breakfast speaker series.
In addition to securing the premium panel of journalists, Tourism New Zealand will host international journalists from Brazil, Japan, Korea, Argentina, Australia and the US.
Bjoern Spreitzer, Tourism New Zealand General Manager, Americas and Europe will also discuss travel trends, opportunities and challenges when he joins a panel of international travel and tourism buyers from the UK and Philippines at the breakfast speaker series on Friday morning.
Hosted by Auckland Tourism, Events & Economic Development (ATEED), TRENZ 2017 is being held at The Cloud and Shed 10, Queens Wharf, Auckland, 9-12 May. The Tourism New Zealand stand is located close to the front of The Cloud and has three designated meeting areas. Check out the new imagery including shots of Kaikoura on the front counter.
