June 2016: Event Helps New Players Be 'WAIS' with Events

BEWais (Business Events Hamilton & Waikato) held their inaugural event last night with around 40 business events professionals in attendance.

The event, facilitated by Hamilton & Waikato Convention Bureau, was organised by young professionals from Claudelands, Hobbiton, The Avantidrome, The Ambassador Hotel and Hamilton & Waikato Convention Bureau.

Hosted at the Ambassador Hotel, young professionals and new players in the industry were given a chance to network in a relaxed social setting.

Hamilton & Waikato Tourism’s Convention Bureau Manager Amanda Graham said providing a platform for the business leaders of tomorrow to connect and learn is extremely valuable, not only to them but to the whole industry.

“Forming these relationships and collaborating with other professionals is key to success in this industry.”

After being approached by several young professionals in the industry Hamilton & Waikato Tourism’s Convention Bureau set up BEWais to give them an opportunity to form business relationships, make essential industry connections, and receive professional development.

“Hamilton and Waikato is becoming known for collaboration amongst our operators and events like this will only improve this reputation and attract more business events to the region,” said Graham.

BEWais will hold events quarterly, giving young people and new business event suppliers a forum to connect, support and inspire each other.
