September 2015: Special Occasion in the Perfect Location at Wintec

Wintec’s venue, The Atrium, provided the perfect space for a special awards ceremony in June. The awards recognised four Waikato leaders in the fields of hospitality, architecture, manufacturing and health, who received Wintec Honorary Medals for their longstanding contribution to the region.

Peter Stark, general manager of Montana Catering, Richard Hill, co-founder of Chow:Hill Architects, David Fredericksen, founder and chair of Convex Plastics and Maureen Speedy, nurse manager for Waikato Family Centre were awarded their medals in front of a crowd of around 200.
The venue was transformed into an elegant space complete with stunning candelabras and an understated white and silver theme, and popular New Zealand TV personality, Te Radar was the MC for the event.

The ceiling was also fit with a striking lighting feature, which was the result of a collaboration between Wintec events AV technician, Aiden Moore, and Wintec Venues’ lighting supplier, ACLX.

The feature was constructed using a timber frame and 20 pendant lights, creating a standout pendant chandelier.

The item, which is a joint asset between ACLX and Wintec, will now be used for events and is also available to hire for $350. Contact Aiden on 021 819 564 or email Aiden.Moore@wintec.ac.nz if you’re interested in hiring it.
